Mr. Gordon Farquhar – CEO, Mannings North Asia, The Dairy Farm Group
Starting as a registered pharmacist, Gordon spent 27 years over two periods with Boots (formerly “Alliance Boots” and “Walgreen Boots Alliance”) in the UK, with which he gained extensive retail experience in health, beauty and pharmacy industries and covered operational, commercial and marketing roles during his career.
At Boots, he worked in Netherlands, Japan and the USA aside from heading the company’s local and international businesses. He also worked for a variety of ownership models from listed companies, privately-owned or private-equity owned entities, to mutual ownership.
In his current role, Gordon is responsible for the Mannings business in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China, alongside Rose Pharmacy in the Philippines.
Prof. Jonathan Wong Woon-chung – Director, Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre
Director of Baptist University’s Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre (HKORC); Director, Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment. The Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre Certification Limited, managed by HKORC, is responsible for the establishment of a local certification system of organic products as well as the approval of application of organic product certification.
In recognition of the service excellence in organic retail operation as well as selling quality organic products to customers, HKORC has launched the “Quality Organic Retailer" election since 2012 which is the only assessment scheme for organic retailers in Hong Kong.
HKORC also conducts the annual “Hong Kong Organic Products Consumer Behavior Survey Report" to explore and analyze the behavior patterns of Hong Kong consumers purchasing organic products.
Ms. Yvonne Chang – Publisher, Natural Beauty Buyer’s Guide
The founder and publisher of Natural Beauty Buyer’s Guide and Natural Foods Buyer’s Guide, the Asia’s only publications 100% dedicated to natural products trends and merchandising strategies. They are highly effective tool that reaches 50,000+ distributors, importers and retailers in Asia. The Guides are “Approved Trade Publication" by the Trade & Industry Department of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Yvonne has been in the natural products industry for 14 years, initially as the general manager of the Asia office of Penton Media/New Hope Natural Media, the organizer of Natural Products Expos. Yvonne has served as the governing board members of Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre since 2001.
Ms. Sarah Fung – Publisher, Liv Media
The founder and publisher of Liv, Hong Kong’s best-lovedcity magazine devoted to wellbeing, Sarah Fung has had a ring-side seat to the rapid development of Hong Kong’s wellness industry. An experienced writer and editor, Sarah began her career at HK Magazine, Hong Kong’s best-loved weekly lifestyle publication, where she penned Skin Deep, a popular health, wellbeing and spa column.
When she left HK Magazine Media Group in 2014, she was managing editor of both HK Magazine and The List, a listings-based city guide for women in Hong Kong. She launched Liv Magazine in October 2014, and has been documenting the evolution of the city’s health and wellness scene ever since. Her work has also appeared on buzzfeed.com and in Cathay Pacific’s Discovery magazine.
Ms. Sonalie Figueiras – Founder and Editor-in-chief, Green Queen
Serial social entrepreneur Sonalie Figueiras is the founder & editor-in-chief of Green Queen, an award-winning impact media platform advocating for social & environmental change in Hong Kong with a mission to shift consumer behaviour through inspiring & empowering original content.
She is also the founder & CEO of Ekowarehouse, the global sourcing platform for certified organic products, with a mission to make safe, quality food accessible & affordable for the whole planet.
With over a decade of experience in publishing, digital marketing, organic trade and health & sustainability, she is an eco wellness industry veteran with a keen eye for market trends and a regular on the speaking circuit, sharing her expertise on stages across Asia and beyond. Sonalie also recently launched a podcast series about the Zero Waste Movement in Hong Kong to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the circular economy.
Mr. Daniel Cheung – General Manager, Informa Markets
Daniel has been in the food tradeshow industry for over 30 years, organising some of the largest events, Hofex, Gourmet Asia, Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong, in Asia which makes him an expert in every aspect of food and beverage trends and insights. Seeing the natural and organic sector has been moving up from niche to mainstream, Daniel takes up a new role of directing Natural & Organic Asia to foster the growth and innovation of the industry.
